Don't worry if you don't have these at hand; a small regular whisk and any deep bowl can work as well.

Preparation Steps:

Step 1: Start by sifting 1-2 teaspoons of matcha into your bowl. This prevents clumps and ensures a smooth texture.

Step 2: Pour in about 60-80 ml of hot water (just under boiling). The ideal temperature is around 175°F (80°C) – too hot, and you risk making the matcha bitter.

Step 3: Using your mamatcha whisk, whisk vigorously in a W or M motion. The goal is to achieve a frothy layer on top with tiny bubbles, indicating a well-mixed matcha.

 

A pro tip: pre-soak the prongs of your whisk in warm water for a minute or two. This softens the bamboo, making it more flexible and less likely to break during whisking.

Adjusting to Taste: If it's too strong, feel free to add more water. 

Optional step: Gently heat your milk of choice. Pour the prepared matcha over the heated milk. For an artistic touch, you can try to create latte art by pouring the milk carefully.
